ZIERK ATHLETIC CENTER NEARS COMPLETION
In just a few weeks, the sounds of construction will cease in the Zierk Athletic Center, replaced with the shouts, splashes, and cheers of competition. Crews are making the final preparations for the grand opening of the 77,000-square-foot facility.

Zierk Athletic Center
The Zierk Athletic Center is a 77,000-square-foot, multipurpose facility that will strengthen St. Mark’s commitment to excellence, enabling every Marksman to reach his full potential on the playing field and, more importantly, in life.
South Entrance
The Zierk Athletic Center will also support the Norma & Lamar Hunt Family Stadium. The Zierk's varsity locker room leads directly to the field entrance, and the southern-facing concession stands will serve fans from both the gym and the stadium.
Hicks Gym
A new 800-seat competition gymnasium will serve as the home court for the varsity Lions, carrying forward the legacy of the Hicks Athletic Center. The Tom Adams Court pays tribute to a St. Mark's legend who inspired hundreds of students both on the court and in the art history classroom.
Levering Pool
The 30-meter by 25-yard Levering Pool will enable the Lions to host local, regional and national competitions for both swimming and water polo, with second-floor spectator seating. The pool also features locker room facilities for both St. Mark's and visiting athletes.
Crow Atrium
The spacious two-story Crow Atrium connects the pool and gym. Like many communal spaces on campus, this will serve as a nexus of activity for students and community members, with seating and gathering areas, whether resting between games or as a venue for receptions large and small.
Albert G. Hill, Sr. Family Tennis Center
The Albert G. Hill, Sr. Family Tennis Center will be home to six high-performance courts, enabling the Lions to continue their longstanding tradition of excellence.
Marksman Alumni Room
The second-floor Marksman Alumni Room, named through the generous support of Kathryne and Jeff Hillier ’76, will give graduates a place to gather when they return to campus, in addition to serving as a large meeting space for students, faculty, and parents.
Varsity Locker Rooms
St. Mark’s student-athletes and coaches will prepare for competition in new state-of-the-art locker rooms for all indoor and outdoor varsity sports. The new building will also include improved meeting spaces for teams, coaches, guests, and other members of the School community.
